Sensory processing books that parents should read

How can sensory books be helpful?

Children with special needs can have a wide range of sensory processing issues, which can be complex, unpredictable, and completely overwhelming. It may be that one sense is affected, several, or all and children can be either over or under-responsive to certain things.

For parents, watching your child experience sensory processing issues, particularly when they have a negative effect, can be difficult. If your child is over-responsive to something it might cause them stress and anxiety. And if your child is under-responsive, it can be dangerous – for example, not responding to temperatures and having a high pain threshold.
